BMS

The Breeding Management System (BMS) is a suite of mutually compatible informatics tools for managing plant breeding pipeline data and is one of the core products of the IBP and SCKA. It is being offered as an integrated package, together with support services, for adoption and routine use by breeding programs in different national programs. The suite comprises of tools for nursery management, advancement of breeding material, designing and management of yield trials, including field book preparation and label printing if needed, analysis and interpretation of yield trial data.  The package is compatible with data capture using electronic devises and data transfer for analysis.  The services comprise technical support in the use of the system as well as professional support covering data management, capacity building, and plant breeding methodology. The overall objective is to make crop breeding in regional countries more efficient by providing an essential component in the form of a database to efficiently manage nursery and yield trial activities in a crop breeding pipeline.
